THE VOLUME ACCOMPANIES THE EXHIBITION HELD AT Museum of palazzo fortuny IN VENICE IN 2010-2011 IN COLLABORATION WITH galleria d'arte maggiore g.a.m.
Twenty still lifes by Giorgio Morandi (Bologna, 1890–1964), some of which are previously unpublished and come from private collections. These “silent and modest” paintings feature colors that “vibrate with a somewhat faded luminosity, as if emanating from within a painting that wonderfully situates itself in the perceptual and mental space between the visible and the invisible” (Francesco Poli, from the exhibition catalog).
An extraordinary and unique opportunity, therefore, to create a dialogue of resonances and connections: on one hand, in terms of formal research, with the meticulous precision of Fortuny; on the other, with the “metaphysical spaces” of Tirelli, displayed on the first and second floors.
