Among De Chirico's most iconic work, reinterpreted also by Andy Warhol. The series Le Muse Inquietanti contains all the elements of Giorgio de Chirico's metaphysical poetics. Greek statuary is reinterpreted by De Chirico through the mannequin. The result is an estrangement that gives rise to the title of the work. In this dreamed place, only apparently real, which unites elements of the past with elements of the future, no men nor living beings can live but only mannequins, devoid of the very essence of the human being.
