In the unmistakable style of Fernando Botero he does not represent reality itself, but an invented and poetic universe of expanded and almost unreal forms, completely new that has its roots in his native country, Colombia. In his works Botero does not only depict "big" women and men. In fact, everything in his works is out of size: figures, families, children, animals, houses, streets, objects, fruits. To fill large fields of color, he expands the form: men and landscapes acquire dimensions apparently exaggerated, with large volumes that fill his canvases, where detail becomes the keystone.
