In 2016, the Fondazione Carriero in Milan organized an exhibition curated by Francesco Stocchi on the relationship between Leoncillo and Lucio Fontana consecrated in the XXVII International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 1954, in which each of the two artists had a personal room: Roberto Longhi presented twenty-two sculptures by Leoncillo that were still influenced by the Cubist lesson, while Giampiero Giani introduced Fontana's Spatial Sculptures.
For the realization of this exhibition aimed at celebrating the comparison between the two artists proposed for the first time in the above-mentioned Biennale, the Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. has lent many artworks.
