In this edition of Art SG, Giorgio Morandi's work is going to be eminently featured: Maggiore g.a.m. will show some meaningful pieces from the vast production of the Italian Master, including some oils, etchings, drawings and watercolours. Since before its foundation in 1978, Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. has established a strong relationship with Giorgio Morandi's art becoming the most relevant landmark on Morandi's work on the market and also participating into the cultural promotion of his art, through collaborations with major Museums and Institutions around the world.

 

Visitors will also have the chance to immerse themself in the metaphysical world of Giorgio de Chirico through some of his most striking oils on canvas. Throughout the years, Maggiore g.a.m has highlighted the importance of de Chirico's works through collaborations with prestigious museums and institutions and the realization of exhibitions. In 2009 the Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. collaborated with the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris to realize the exhibition "Giorgio de Chirico. La fabrique des reves", the most complete retrospective so far ever made on his work. In 2013 on the occasion of the Italian Year of Culture to the United States and in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreigns Affairs and with the Italian Embassy in Washington D.C., Maggiore g.a.m. curated and promoted the exhibition "Myth and Archeology in the work of Giorgio de Chirico" in the prestigious Phillips Collection of Washington DC.

 

In Singapore, Maggiore g.a.m. will showcase exquisite works by some of the Masters of the XX Century including Franz Kline and his Abstract Expressionism in a dialogue with the last surrealists artworks of his master Roberto Sebastian Matta and of the eminent Surrealist artist Paul Delvaux. Futurism will be featured with an important artwork by Gino Severini and the Novecento is well rappresented by Massimo Campigli.

 

An extraordinary work by Sam Francis from the 60s exemplifies the artist's research into the dialogue between Western and Eastern culture, while Robert Indiana's aluminium sculpture AMOR – a Latin word which translates in “love”  will bring Pop Art in the middle of Maggiore g.a.m.'s booth.

 

The fair attendees will also enjoy pieces from Asian artistis: Hsiao Chin's painted majolicas and a selection of some of Tong Yanrunan's renowned oil painting portraits. Finally, Maggiore g.a.m. will present works from some contemporary artists, such as Pirro Cuniberti, Sandro Chia and Claudine Drai, whose art is entering the Guerlain collection and it has mesmerized many, including the renowned film director Wim Wenders. In 2021 he shot “présence”, a video-artwork narrating the french artist's poetic world.
